This mixtape is special to me because it is the first time I've really embraced my gift as an artist and poet. Words in the Sun was inspired partially by my faith(the SON) and by the premise that my words are a light to anyone who hears them. I worked hard on the concept and making sure that the tracks i chose and lyrics reflected on the time frame i wanted to set. The setting for this album is from Sunrise to Sunset, which i felt could be heard in the Intro and Fathers, the last track. It is also symbolic of my stepping into the spotlight of my destiny and coming into a comfort level with who I am in my faith. A few of the songs are personal, a few are observational, all of them are from the heart.

I want to thank my wife Nicole(Look out for her album coming soon, that girl can WORSHIP!!! :), also my brother and friend Jason Curtis who introduced me to hip-hop and pushed me lyrically, Melody Vinnett aka MissMeloVi (that girl can write!!!!!) Aaron Davis, Wayne DeShields, Josh Simpson, and Leroy Gibbs who endured my constant picking and track changing(sorry man :)) and everybody who supported your boy. I know this is reading like a grammy speech, my bad, lol, just wanted to make sure everybody got thanked.
